Coffee Story
Part of the Guji district, this coffee originates from Hambela, a zone in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia
This is a fully washed coffee where coffee producers at the farm would first deliver their ripe cherries to the washing station to be sorted and pulped. The coffee cherries are then left to ferment in clean water tanks for 36 to 48 hours and washed thereafter to remove the mucilage. The coffee in parchment are laid and spread out in thin layers on raised drying beds and are turned every 2 to 3 hours during the first few days of the drying process. This drying process goes on for 10 to 12 days, depending on the weather until the coffee is completely dry.
We love Hambela for its clean and intrinsic flavours such as bergamot, chocolate, peach and floral notes. It is one of our favourite espresso roasts and is great for both black and milk-based coffees.
